One Step of Faith Could Change Your Life—Ready to Take It?

TODAY'S TEACHING

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand. —Psalm 37:23-24

When I first felt God calling me to start my prayer ministry, I had no idea where it would lead

All I had was a small step of faith: create a few prayer videos and upload them.

At the time, I didn’t know the first thing about making videos or how to reach people online.

It felt like I was stepping out into the unknown, but I knew I had to be obedient

I didn’t have all the answers, but I trusted that God would guide me with each step I took.

So, I just did the best I could with what I had.

Little by little, those videos began to touch lives in ways I never imagined

The feedback was incredible—people were being blessed, and I knew without a doubt that God was behind it all.

From there, I took another step, even though I didn’t know where it would lead

I wasn’t sure how to expand or what would come next, but I felt God nudging me to grow

What started as a small side project turned into something bigger

It became clear that God was providing everything I needed, often before I even realized I needed it.

One step of faith led to the next, and each one brought more fruit, more opportunities, and more confirmation that I was right where God wanted me to be.

Then came the next big leap: expanding onto other social networks and launching this website

Again, I took that step, unsure of the outcome, but trusting God’s guidance.

As I saw each step producing fruit—whether it was reaching more people or hearing testimonies of lives being changed—I knew I couldn’t stop.

God was leading me to expand further, and He gave me the courage to keep going.

And now, here I am, ministering to people all around the world just like you, something I never could’ve imagined when I first took that step.

Looking back, its still a bit hard to believe how far God has brought me.

I have almost 1 million subscribers on YouTube—it still feels surreal.

I’m currently taking another big step of faith for this ministry, and I’m excited about what God has in store.

If you stick around, you’ll see how He’s continuing to lead me to expand Daily Effective Prayer in the months ahead.

It’s amazing to think that all of this began with just one simple step of obedience.

Here’s the truth I’ve learned: God leads us one step at a time when it comes to His will for our lives.

The key here is that we're stepping out in what we believe is truly God's will for us, not our own will, because He is not obligated to bless our plans.

When you take that first step of faith, it’s like opening the door to a new season of growth and favor

Each step may feel small or uncertain, but with every step, He gives you more favor and more opportunities to walk in His purpose

Don’t let fear hold you back from taking that first step—God has a wonderful plan for you (Jeremiah 29:11), and He’ll guide you every step of the way.

Remember, you might be just one step of faith away from your breakthrough, so don’t hesitate.

So, take that one step, and watch God move in your life.

If this resonates with you, here's a short prayer you can say today:

"Dear God, I know You’re calling me to take that first step, even when I don’t know what’s waiting on the other side. It’s like standing at the edge of a cliff, not knowing what’s beyond the fall, but trusting You to catch me. Help me take that step of faith, even if I can only see the next small part of the journey. I know You’ll meet me there, providing the strength and direction I need every step of the way. Amen."

God bless you!

DEVOTIONAL QUESTIONS

1. Are we willing to take the first step of faith, even when we don’t know what the full journey looks like?

Taking the first step of faith can feel like standing at the edge of a cliff, not knowing how far the ground is below or what’s waiting for us. But that’s exactly what faith is. It's trusting God even when we can’t see the whole picture. It’s not about having all the answers right now. It’s about trusting that God’s got the path figured out, even when we don’t. Every journey with God starts with one simple step, and that’s all He’s asking for right now.

2. How can Christian trust God’s guidance with each step, even when the path ahead seems uncertain?

Trusting God’s guidance, especially when the road ahead is unclear, is like following a guide through a fog. You may not see the full trail, but you trust the guide who knows where He’s going. God promises He’ll be with us every step of the way by His Holy Spirit, and even when we don’t have the map, He does. So, even in uncertainty, we can step forward with confidence, knowing God is leading us exactly where we need to go.

3. What can we learn from taking small steps of faith, and how do they build up to bigger breakthroughs?

Small steps of faith are like planting seeds. You might not see the harvest right away, but each step is building something bigger. It’s in the little moments of obedience that we grow stronger in our trust in God. And just like a tree grows from a tiny seed, our faith grows step by step. Each faithful move gets us closer to the breakthrough God has in store for us.

4. In what areas of our lives are Christians hesitating to take the first step, and why are we holding back?

We all have areas where fear, doubt, or comfort keeps us from taking that first step. It’s like standing at the door of a new opportunity but being afraid to open it. Maybe we’re scared of failure or unsure of what’s on the other side. But God isn’t asking us to have it all figured out. He’s asking us to trust Him enough to take that step, even if it feels uncomfortable or unknown.

5. How can Believers encourage one another to keep taking steps of faith, even when the road is challenging or unclear?

We can encourage each other by sharing our own stories of taking steps of faith and seeing God move. Sometimes we just need someone to say, "I’ve been there, and God came through for me." It’s like walking side by side through a tough path, knowing we’re not alone makes all the difference. Let’s remind each other that each step, no matter how small, brings us closer to the breakthrough God has for us.
