Who are the fallen angels in the Book of Enoch?

The fallen angels, also known as fallen Watchers, are mentioned in the Book of Enoch and other ancient Jewish texts. According to this source, fallen angels were once part of an angelic order called the Watchers that lived in Heaven and served God faithfully. But when some of them began to lust after human women, they disobeyed God's commands and were expelled from Heaven.

The fallen Watchers were led by two corrupt leaders: Azazel and Shemhazai. Some believe that their rebellious actions led to many consequences, including the creation of monstrous creatures by interbreeding with humans. 

It is also reported that they introduced forbidden knowledge such as astrology and astronomy as well as weapons like swords and spears. They taught humans how to make jewelry, makeup, narcotics, and other forms of divination. This transgression angered God who sent a great flood to destroy them but spared Noah’s family (Genesis 6).

What are the 4 types of angels?

The Bible mentions many different types of angels, and these are broadly divided into four categories.

Seraphim

The first type is the Seraphim – they are known as the highest ranking angels, closest to God. Descriptions of Seraphim often include their six wings and representing the presence of God. It is believed that these angels sing praises to Him, safeguarding those in Heaven with their powerful wings.

Cherubim

The second type is the Cherubim – this class of angels are tasked with protecting the Throne of God from mankind’s curiosity and rebellion. They were also sent out to guard any entrance to Heaven or Earth in order to keep humankind away from forbidden knowledge. Although they are quite powerful, they also serve as protectors and comforters for those who have earned a place in Heaven.

Thrones

The third type is the Thrones – depending on who you ask, some believe them to be in control of justice while others suggest they are simply God’s messengers. Either way, it is clear that their mission involves delivering messages between Heaven and Earth as well as ensuring justice is carried out appropriately.

Dominions

Finally, there are the Dominions, who are described as mediators between heavenly beings and mankind by providing guidance through difficult situations. As such, it is believed that these angels help us understand how we should live our lives according to what can be found in scripture or through spiritual understanding.

Although these four types form the basis for most descriptions of angels found in scripture, there are many other variations that some theologians believe also exist.

These include include characters from legends or folklore such as Uriel from The Book of Enoch or Raguel from Jewish Legends. These are both considered angelic figures with special abilities assigned by God Himself for specific tasks like punishment or reward depending on individual behaviour.
