Why You’ll Never Know It All—But God’s Word Has All the Answers

TODAY'S TEACHING

As for God, His way is perfect. The word of the Lord is tested and tried; He is a shield to all those who take refuge and put their trust in Him.
 —Psalm 18:30

When life’s storms hit, it’s the truth of God’s Word that keeps us steady and unshaken

I remember a time when everything seemed uncertain.

I had to make a big decision, and nothing felt clear.

But in the quiet of my prayer time, God led me to a verse in Isaiah that reminded me He would guide me through it.

It felt like peace in the middle of a storm, an anchor that helped me keep going.

God’s Word never changes, and it always speaks to us.

Even when it doesn’t lay out every detail of our situation, it reveals His heart.

It reminds us that no matter what happens, He will make a way for us.

That morning, I didn’t get every answer I wanted, but I got something better—peace.

I knew God’s character wouldn’t fail me, and that was enough.

The truth is, our knowledge is always limited.

1 Corinthians 13:9 says, “We know in part.”

I used to think I could figure everything out on my own.

I thought that with enough planning, enough questions, I’d have everything under control.

But one day, I hit a wall

I realized I didn’t have all the answers.

That’s when I understood what this verse meant.

I was missing pieces and will never know it all.

Without God’s wisdom, I’d never have the full picture.

So now, instead of getting frustrated when I don’t have the answers, I trust God.

It's called living by faith, not by sight (1 Corinthians 5:7).

I’ve learned that it’s okay not to know everything.

After all, if I did, I wouldn’t need God.

There will never be a moment where I can say, “I know everything I need to know.”

And that’s perfectly fine

I don’t need to know it all.

I just need to trust the One who does.

That’s why I approach God with humility and reverence.

I go to Him every day, asking Him to show me the way.

Whether it’s a big decision or a small one, I ask Him to guide me.

There was a time when I was unsure about a job offer.

It seemed great on paper, but I felt unsure

I prayed, opened my Bible, and the verse that stood out was all about trusting God’s plan.

That one verse gave me the clarity I needed to follow His lead, not my own.

The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, leading us into all truth, just as Jesus promised in John 16:13.

There’s been so many times when I’ve felt unsure of exactly what to do next.

But then, in the quiet, God shows me something that I could never figure out on my own.

I never would have received His direction it if I didn't diligently seek Him.

Sometimes it’s through Scripture, sometimes through a sermon, or sometimes, just in a still, small voice.

He always knows when and how to reveal the truth to us.

I’ve decided to always seek, grow, and learn from God all the days of my life, and I encourage you to do the same.

Don’t ever get stuck thinking you know it all.

Ask God about what He wants to show you today.

Then spend focused and quality time in His presence, reading scriptures, praying, and praising Him.

You know, some people think knowing everything will make them feel secure.

But, true security comes from trusting God, not from our own knowledge.

God is a faith God, so He's only going to lead you one step at a time (not give you the full blueprint).

He's purposefully designed this life so that you need to rely on Him and His Word every single day.

And what's amazing is that as you genuinely seek Him, you’ll find that He'll show you whatever you need to see, just when you need to see it.

If this resonates with you, here's a short prayer you can say today:

"Dear God, I come to You today with a humble heart, knowing that I don't have all the answers, and that's okay. I’ve tried to figure everything out on my own, but You remind me time and time again that my knowledge is incomplete. Teach me to trust in Your wisdom, not mine, and to lean on Your Word for guidance. Lead me through life’s twists and turns, knowing that You’ve got all the answers I’ll ever need. Amen."

God bless you!

DEVOTIONAL QUESTIONS

1. How can we humble ourselves and recognize that our knowledge is limited, while trusting that God’s Word holds all the answers we need?

We all have moments where we feel like we’ve got everything figured out, but the truth is, we don’t. Our knowledge is incomplete, like trying to put together a puzzle without all the pieces. When we acknowledge that, it opens the door for God to step in and fill in the gaps. Humility isn’t weakness. It’s acknowledging that we need Him, and trusting that His Word has the answers we need.

2. In what ways can Christians daily turn to God’s Word for wisdom, especially when we face situations that don’t have clear answers?

Turning to God’s Word should be like a daily habit, just like eating or drinking. When we’re stuck or unsure, we don’t need to have a specific verse in mind. We can just open the Bible and let Him speak to us. Sometimes, it’s not about getting an exact answer but finding peace in His presence. As we make it a habit, we’ll start to see how His Word leads us, step by step, when we don’t have all the answers.

3. How does acknowledging that we don’t know it all help us grow spiritually and deepen our relationship with God?

Admitting we don’t have all the answers is actually freeing. It’s a moment of surrender, where we stop relying on our own understanding and allow God to guide us. When we recognize our limitations, we open ourselves up to learning more from Him. And that’s when true spiritual growth happens. When we let go of the need to be in control and trust Him to lead us.

4. What steps can Christians take to invite the Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth, as promised in John 16:13?

Inviting the Holy Spirit to guide us starts with listening. That means quieting all the noise (whether that’s our own thoughts or the distractions around us) and being still enough to hear His voice (Psalm 46:10). It’s a simple prayer: asking God to reveal the truth we need in every situation. When we’re willing to pause and ask, the Holy Spirit faithfully leads us, revealing things we’d never figure out on our own.

5. How can Believers develop a mindset of lifelong learning, constantly seeking God’s direction instead of relying on our own understanding?

Lifelong learning with God means always staying open to His guidance, no matter how much we think we know. We can start by approaching each day with curiosity, asking God to show us more of who He is and how He’s moving in our lives. It’s not about being perfect or always having it figured out. It’s about staying teachable, ready to learn from Him every day. Just like school doesn’t end, neither does our journey with God. We can always grow and discover more of His truth.
