God Is Speaking and Here’s How To Hear His Voice

TODAY'S TEACHING

The woman said to him, I know that Messiah is coming, he who is called the Christ (the Anointed One); and when he arrives, he will tell us everything we need to know and make it clear to us.. - John 4:25

Learning to hear from God and being led by His Holy Spirit is exciting.

God wants to speak to you today and every day.

He wants to show and tell you all that you need to know so that you can live a blessed life and fulfil the good plans and purposes He has for you.

Every time God talks to you, He has something good and helpful to tell you.

The issue is that sometimes people miss hearing Him because they don't recognize His voice.

They need to learn to develop how to hear His voice and obey what He says.

Hearing and obeying walk hand in hand.

The more we walk out what God tells us, the more He can tell us.

If we are only willing to obey so far, then there is only so much God can speak to us about.

Parents talk to and instruct their children all the time.

There's no reason to think that God wouldn't want to also speak to us, His children.

Human parents will do all they can to ensure their instructions are understood by their children.

They don't expect their kids to know what to do if they don't tell them what to do.

God is the same way with us.

He loves us far more than our earthly parents, and He wants to tell us everything we need to know in life.

Oftentimes, we can think we know better than God.

We think we can figure out the problems we face on our own.

Naturally, we want to do what we want to do, when we want to do it, and how we want to do it.

But when we choose to live life like this by placing God on the sidelines, we end up stepping off the path He wants us to walk on and wasting precious time.

Thank God for His goodness and mercy.

He wants to guide us through each day, and He is committed to doing so by speaking to us.

We can learn to develop hearing from Him by taking time to be still and listening while we pray or read the Bible.

While we go about our day, we can check with Him on different issues on our hearts.

We listen for His voice that is speaking to us and look for His peace and His guidance in our hearts.

By practicing this day after day, He'll help us get more and more attuned to His voice.

Just like how we can pick out the voice of a loved one in a busy room, we'll get better at recognizing God even amid a busy day.

He is our Guide and Comforter, and He is talking to us in every moment.

All we have to do is listen.

Prayer To Obey When God Speaks

Almighty God,

I come before You today with an open heart and ears ready to hear Your voice.

I acknowledge that You are the authority in my life and that Your words are true and life-giving.

As I seek to obey Your voice, I ask for Your Holy Spirit to empower me and guide me in every step.

Give me a heart that is sensitive to Your leading and a mind that is aligned with Your will.

Help me to set aside my own selfish desires and surrender to Your plans and purposes.

Lord, I confess that there have been times when I have ignored Your voice or chosen to go my own way.

Forgive me for my disobedience and rebelliousness.

Today, I recommit myself to Your Lordship and submit to Your voice in all areas of my life.

I pray for discernment and wisdom to distinguish Your voice.

May I be quick to recognize when You speak and obedient to follow Your instructions.

Help me to trust in Your goodness and faithfulness, knowing that Your ways are higher than my ways.

I invite You to speak into every area of my life - my relationships, my work, my decisions, and my dreams.

I surrender my plans and dreams to You, knowing that Your plans are far better than my own.

Strengthen me to walk in obedience, even when it is difficult or goes against my natural inclinations.

Lord, I thank You for Your faithfulness and for the privilege of hearing Your voice.

May I never take it for granted or become complacent in my obedience.

Fill me afresh with Your Spirit each day so that I may live a life that brings honor and glory to You.

Prayer To Better Recognize God's Voice

Dear God,

I humbly come before You and ask for Your help.

My heart yearns to hear Your voice more clearly amidst the distractions that surround me.

I ask You for Your guidance and wisdom to help me develop a keen ear for Your still, small voice.

Lord, You are the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.

You know the depths of my soul and the struggles I face in discerning Your voice.

Grant me the grace to silence the world's deception and tune my heart to Your frequency.

Father, in this world filled with empty words and false promises, I surrender my ears to You.

Open them to hear Your truth and direction.

Illuminate the path You have set before me, that I may walk in perfect harmony with Your will.

Teach me to recognize Your voice so that I may follow it confidently, knowing that it leads to life and peace.

Holy Spirit, fill me up right now and guide me in every moment.

Help me to cultivate discernment so that I may distinguish Your voice from the voices that seek to distract and deceive.

Sweep away the noise of doubt and fear, and fill me with the sound of Your presence.

Lord, I long to be rooted in Your Word and fueled by Your Spirit.

Lead me to a place of solitude and stillness, where I can hear Your voice undisturbed.

Grant me the discipline and patience to quiet my mind and tune my heart to Your frequency.

Enable me to find peace in Your presence, even amidst the turmoil of this world.

I entrust my ears and my heart to You.

Thank You for strengthening my connection with You so that I am not swayed by all that is around me.

With Your help, I am relying on Your voice more and more above all else, for You alone hold the keys to abundant life.

In the precious Name of Jesus, I offer this prayer to You.
