Why God’s Calling Might Be Staring You in the Face–Find Out Now

TODAY'S TEACHING

Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
 —Psalm 119:133

People ask me online all the time, "How do I know what God wants me to do?" They’re sitting around, stuck in neutral, waiting on some neon sign or big booming voice from Heaven before they make a move. But let me tell you, that’s just not how it usually works.

Let me share something with you.

Years back, I was practically pulling my hair out trying to figure out God’s calling. I prayed till I had no more words left, just asking Him for clear instructions. Nothing happened, weeks passed, and I felt stuck.

Then one random afternoon, I posted a few prayer videos on YouTube. Honestly, I wasn’t sure it would make a difference, but I did it anyway, because if it blessed just one person, it was worth it.

Guess what, turns out that tiny, hesitant "yes" was exactly the nudge God was waiting for. After I uploaded those prayer videos, doors opened, clarity came, and fast forward to today, I'm just 8K shy of 1 Million Subscribers.

Life with God is like steering a car. You can't expect directions if you never take it out of park. You’ve got to move, put action to your faith, even just a little, trusting He'll speak to your heart, turn you around if you're off-track, and keep you pointed toward your destiny.

Now, don't get me wrong, there are moments you need to stop, wait quietly, and pray before taking action. But, from what I've experienced, that isn't the case a lot of the time.

Don’t get so caught up waiting for a lightning bolt that you miss the gentle nudges of the Holy Spirit that may be staring you in the face. Step out, trust God to close the wrong doors, open the right ones, and guide you every step of the way.

Next time you pray, make sure you’ve already put the car in gear because once you're moving, God will surely steer you and order your steps so that you end up exactly where you’re meant to be.

If this resonates with you, here's a short prayer you can say today:

"Dear God, I admit I've spent too much time stuck in park, waiting for flashing signs from Heaven while missing Your gentle nudges. Help me get moving, trusting that even if I mess up, You're right there, ready to steer me back on course. I'm choosing today to shift into gear, knowing You'll guide every turn I take. So lead me, open the right doors, close the wrong ones, and keep me headed straight toward Your amazing plan for my life. Amen."

God bless you!

DEVOTIONAL QUESTIONS

1. What fears are keeping Christians stuck in park, and how can we start moving forward with God’s guidance?

If we're honest, fear of failure, fear of looking silly, or just plain fear of getting it wrong can keep us idling forever, parked right where we started. But we've got to remind ourselves that God’s love is stronger than any mistake we could ever make. So let's put it in drive, even if our hands tremble a little, knowing He'll meet us right where we are and show us exactly where to go next.

2. How do we recognize the subtle nudges from God instead of waiting for dramatic signs?

Truth is, God doesn’t always wave big banners. Sometimes He whispers quietly through the Holy Spirit, like a friend nudging us gently, saying, "Hey, just give it a try." So let’s stop straining to see fireworks in the sky and start paying attention to those gentle, consistent pulls deep down in our hearts. The more we trust those quiet promptings, the clearer His voice becomes.

3. When Christians feel unsure, how can we trust God to redirect us if we make a wrong turn?

Listen, God’s the ultimate GPS. If we turn wrong, He doesn't throw His hands up and quit. He recalculates our route without missing a beat. There's comfort in knowing we don't have to have it all figured out perfectly. We just need to trust that He loves us enough to guide us back to the right path. So let's step forward bravely, confident He'll steer us back whenever we veer off course.

4. What simple opportunities might Believers be overlooking right now because we're expecting something bigger or clearer?

Sometimes we get so caught up looking for flashing neon lights that we overlook the little candles God lights along our daily paths. Those small opportunities, such as saying yes to helping someone, stepping out of our comfort zone, or doing the thing right in front of us, can all lead to amazing places. Let's stop waiting for a parade and simply do what's within reach today, trusting it'll lead to the big stuff later.

5. How does a Christian know when to pause and pray, and when it's time to step out in faith and start driving forward?

Truth is, life with God isn't a neatly marked road. We've got to learn when to ease off the gas and when to accelerate with confidence. Sometimes it’s about pausing, breathing deep, and letting peace settle in our hearts. Other times, it’s about trusting what He's already whispered and boldly stepping out, even if we feel uncertain. Let's stay in tune with Him daily, trusting He'll help us know exactly when to pause in prayer and when it’s time to bravely hit the road.

SCRIPTURE OF THE WEEK

What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all — how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?
Romans 8:31-32
